On the 28th of April 2023, the Central European Training School on Neutron Techniques, CETS, organized by the Budapest Neutron Centre (Centre for Energy Research), was successfully completed. The 2023 event was the 15th of the series launched in 2001. 25 participants from Armenia, Belgium, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Serbia, Spain and Turkey presented their research in a poster and in a flash presentation at the welcoming event. The participants’ abstracts have been collected in a booklet published by Budapest Neutron Centre (BNC). The 15 hours of introductory theory lectures, given by representatives of various European and non-European research centres, were followed by 15 hours of in-person hands-on training at the BNC neutron instruments.

At the school dinner, the students received their certificates of participation, and prizes were awarded to the most active participants of the school. After the school, the participants had the opportunity to visit Mirrotron Ltd., one of the sponsors of the training. Doctoral students of Hungarian and non-Hungarian universities were also able to earn course credits by completing an exam.
